Nordisk Aviation Products - Mechanical Project Engineer
Do you want to develop technical air cargo solutions used in aviation worldwide?

Nordisk Aviation Products AS is a leading international company that delivers innovative, high-quality cargo solutions to airlines and air freight operators. We serve customers worldwide from our production facilities in Norway and China, as well as through sales and distribution hubs in the United States. Nordisk is owned by TransDigm Inc. headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio.
At Nordisk Aviation Products, you will have the opportunity to develop advanced air cargo containment solutions used in aircraft worldwide. We are now looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer who wants to contribute across mechanical design and technical project execution.
The scope of the position will be adapted to your experience, expertise and ambitions. You may have your strongest background in mechanical design and CAD, or you may have experience coordinating technical projects from customer requirements to final delivery. What matters most is that you understand technical products, enjoy working with different disciplines and want to take an active role in turning requirements and ideas into reliable, manufacturable solutions.
You will become part of a highly competent engineering environment with close collaboration between engineering, production, customers and suppliers.
What you will work on:
Depending on your background and experience, your responsibilities may include:
Developing mechanical solutions and creating 2D and 3D models and drawings
Translating customer requirements and specifications into technical solutions
Preparing and maintaining technical documentation and production drawings
Planning and coordinating technical activities throughout the project lifecycle
Contributing to improvements in product design, quality, manufacturability and cost
Conducting design reviews and ensuring compliance with requirements and relevant standards
Coordinating activities across engineering, production and other disciplines
Supporting or leading prototyping, testing and qualification activities
Contributing to industrialization and implementation in production
Working closely with production to ensure practical and efficient solutions
Managing technical clarifications, changes and project risks
Communicating with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders
You do not need to have extensive experience in every area. Some candidates will bring strong expertise in mechanical design and product development, while others will have broader experience in technical coordination and project execution. The responsibilities will reflect your professional strengths and level of experience.
Who you are:
We believe you have:
An education in mechanical engineering, technical drafting or another relevant technical discipline, at technical college or bachelor’s degree level
Experience from one or more areas such as mechanical design, product development, manufacturing, industrialization or technical projects
Experience with CAD and technical documentation, preferably Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, or similar tools
A good understanding of how technical solutions are developed, documented, tested and implemented in production
Preferably some practical or hands-on experience
Good communication skills in both Norwegian and English
Experience with project coordination, project management or technical leadership is an advantage, but not a requirement. We welcome applications from both experienced engineers and candidates who are earlier in their careers and motivated to develop broader responsibility over time.
What we offer:
The opportunity to develop cargo containment solutions used in aircraft worldwide
A varied engineering role spanning design, product development, testing and project execution
A highly competent and collaborative professional environment
Close interaction with experienced engineers and our production team
Short and effective decision-making processes
Opportunities for professional development and increased responsibility
The opportunity to influence both technical solutions and how projects are executed
The position is based at our headquarters in Holmestrand and primarily requires daily on-site presence. You will report to the Engineering Manager.
Please submit your CV and application in English, together with relevant diplomas and certificates.
The application deadline is 10 September 2026.
